Adaptive Flicker Actuator - A-blinX

The a-blinX is an actuator comprised of a small electronic sensor that can be easily attached to the stem of any eyeglass frame.

When properly positioned, the sensor is capable of detecting the blinking of the wearer's eyes, causing a momentary electrical contact to be executed to perform simple commands on a computer or electronic equipment such as the Key-X.

Advantages of A-blinX

  • The A-blinX was designed to address numerous types of physical and motor disabilities, including those arising from: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS / ALS), Cerebral Palsy, Cerebral Vascular Accident (CVA), Muscular Dystrophy, High Spinal Cord Injuries, Cerebral Palsy, among others.
  • Combined with other assistive resources, such as the Telepatix application, it can give people with severe motor impairments the possibility of communicating with autonomy.

Telepatix application for rapid communication

Designed to provide autonomy and fluency in communication for people with severe motor disabilities who cannot express themselves orally, Telepatix is a virtual keyboard application with integrated vocalizer and word suggestions.

Compatible with any Android smartphone or tablet, Telepatix allows typing complete sentences by tapping directly on the letters of the virtual keyboard (which automatically filters out involuntary touches and movements) or by swiping, using the a-blinX or the screen itself as an actuator. Telepatix can also be controlled via Bluetooth by wireless mechanical actuators.

Simple push actuator

Individuals with severe motor limitations and little voluntary movement can control other devices by pressing this mechanical actuator with little force, using short upper limb, lower limb or head movements.
